Don't buy this mower - D. MACDONALD - Westlake TX
I have a St. Augustine lawn and mow it every week. Don't buy this mower. I bought one from Amazon 3/20/2009 and it died in May of 2010. The battery will no longer charge. The mower comes with a 2 year warranty but the battery only has a one year warranty. The battery is not removable so if you want to replace it you'll have to spend another 0 for the part then take the mower to a dealer (good luck finding one) to replace it. This mower is very heavy and is not self propelled. It is so heavy in fact, that the wheels leave tracks in the grass that spring back up after you mow so the grass looks uneven after you cut it. Also, the stone guard in the back is rubber and can get caught under the blades. If you pull backwards on the mower the guard will roll under the blades and get shredded. I know it sounds like an environmentally conscious purchase but if you take into account the fact that this cheaply built and designed product weighs over 100 pounds, probably gets shipped half way around the world and needs to be replaced yearly then it's carbon footprint easily exceeds that of my brand new gas powered Toro.

Discontinued - where to get parts?? - David Ottalini - Silver Spring, Md. USA
I see the manufacturer has now discontinued this unit. After one season, I had to order new back wheels and a new "custom grip" for it because it rips. Wheels can't handle turns over time - they're made of plastic and the fins that are supposed to lend support tear and break over time. I was able to get parts from American Lawn Mower last year but it's website is broken these days. Wish I'd ordered more wheels! Otherwise, the unit works as advertised and handles a medium-sized front and back yard without a problem. Recharge takes a few hours but really not an issue. If anyone knows who is selling parts these days, please include them in the reviews.

Underpowered and not good at bagging. I miss my Black and Decker - Ray Salemi - Framingham, MA USA
I am a big fan of cordless mowers, and had a Black and Decker for year. But, I found the B&D to be pricey and when the battery finally faded on that mower I switched to the Earthwise. I've been underwhelmed.

The mower is underpowered and quickly loses its charge if it gets into tough grass. The bagging system clogs immediately and is useless for grass longer than 6 inches. The side discharge system also clogs easily.

I miss my Black and Decker cordless.

The four stars is actually for our CMM1000 which was the first generation of this mower. It's been a trooper for us and the only thing we do is sharpen the blades once a year and we've swapped out the batteries only once!

    >>Why SHOULD I get a cordless electric mower? They are super quiet, clean, and convenient. They aren't necessarily cheaper than a gas mower since they cost more up front but there is almost NO maintenance. (We spent over 10 years for a set of replacement batteries.) Corded electric mowers are a lot cheaper but then you have a cord.

    >>Why SHOULDN'T I get a cordless mower? They weigh a LOT more than gas mowers so if you have a hilly lot or have difficulty with physical exertion, forget it. They don't have as much power as gas and re-fueling means charging for a few hours so if your lot is over ½ acre you may want to reconsider.

    >>Why do they all come with mulching PLUS bagging? Electric powered mowers have come a long ways but mulching still takes a LOT more power than discharging, so bagging is pretty much a standard feature.

    >>What is a watt-hour? It's basically how big your gas tank is - the more watt-hours, the longer you can mow before you have to recharge.

    >>Is the cutting path a big deal? Yes - for two reasons. 1) The first thing manufacturers do when power is marginal is reduce the blade size, so I tend to see the smaller mowers as more likely to be underpowered. Second, when you consider that you have to overlap each pass by ~3", a 20" blade now effectively cuts 13% more on each pass. If you have a larger yard, you definitely do NOT want anything under 18" Also, my measurements show most mowers overstate their blade size by 1/2" (Our 20" measures 19-5/8, our 19 measures 18-1/2)

    >>Why might I want a removable battery? If you have a large yard, this means you can have a second battery charging while you are using the first. A second battery typically costs 0-0 but it can make the difference between going electric or not. Finally, if you keep the mower in a shed that doesn't have power, a removable battery will let you bring it in for charging.

    >>How long will my batteries last? That depends on your climate and usage. We had a small lot for many years and were religious about recharging right after use. We also live in a cooler climate (Michigan) so the mowing season is shorter. Our batteries lasted about 7 years. Most people should get 3-4 years easily but if you're careless and live in Arizona, you could probably kill the batteries in a year or two.

    >>Why should I care about higher voltage? Higher voltage = more power, PLUS you can recharge the mower faster. With the same chemistry and current, a 36V mower will charge 50% faster than a 24V mower.

    >>Metal deck or plastic? Metal rusts but with minimal care it's not an issue. Plastic ends up giving you a more stuff to trim since you can't cut as close to fences, etc.

Black & Decker also supports the activities of the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBCB), a not-for-profit company established for the purpose of collecting and recycling rechargeable batteries within the U.S. and Canada so that they don't end up in landfills. Companies involved in this recycling effort pay for the cost of collection and recycling so that the environmental benefits come at no cost to you, the consumer.

This electric mower weighs just 76 pounds, and it is backed by a full two-year warranty.

    CMM1200 Black&Decker Cordless Lawnmower - S. Gartrell - Natick, MA United States
I bought this mower in Sept. 0f 2008. In general I like the mower but it does have some issues. I agree with most of the reviewers that this is somewhat heavier than similar gas mowers. It doesn't cut medium length grass very evenly (it leaves a bit of a ridge on one side) and it has a tough time in taller grass. My primary problem is that today, the plastic post in the handle of the on switch broke, rendering the mower useless. This confirms what many reviewers have said about the switch being the weak link of this mower. I guess I'll have to borrow my neighbor's Toro until it gets fixed. The good news is that it has a two year guarantee and I'm within that period.

Simply Put - A Great Mower - J. Russell - Columbus, OH USA
I'm in my second season of using the CMM1200. At first I was skeptical that it would still work after being charged in the garage over the winter. But it still works as well as when I purchased it last year.

I have a medium sized yard that's relatively flat which is ideal for this mower. Sure it's heavier than a standard gas powered mower but it is on wheels, fellas. Not like you have to carry it...

I've also heard gripes about losing the key. I put mine on a key-chain attached to the mower. Unless you store the thing out of your locked garage, who cares? The key will be there when you need it.

This mower was pricier than a gas-powered replacement (unless you look at Lawn Boys or other upscale mowers) but the ease of use and elimination of gas, oil and maintenance is well worth it. Plus it doesn't stink up the neighborhood with gas fumes and smoke and it's quieter than my wife's hairdryer. It'll make you enjoy cutting your grass with a clear conscience. Perfect for Suburbia!

Awesome mower for smaller lawns - M. Woolf - Seattle, WA USA
I had the previous model of this mower for 6 years and loved it. The battery doesn't hold much of a charge now (only about 20 minutes) but I'm buying the newest model today. This mower is a great way to go green as there are no emissions and it still performs very well. If you have a large lawn, as I did (1/2 acre), I did have to mow 1/2 and then charge it, and then mow the other half. Love this mower though... I'm a repeat customer!

Satisfied with experience - National Parks - Seattle, Wa.
I am satisfied with the purchase experience and the product. Everything went smoothly, and so far, after 2 uses, we are very happy with the Lawn Mower. The only thing I was surprised about was the temperature restrictions for charging the battery. The manufacturer recommends that it NOT be charged in temperatures below 41 degrees F. to ensure longevity of battery life. It's also recommended that you charge the mower continuously when not being used.

Neuton CE 5.4 14-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Mulching/Bagging Lawn Mower with Removable Battery Review

Summary: If you have a very small yard (Perhaps 1000-1500 square feet of lawn) this could be a decent compromise for you, otherwise I don't think the 14" path and limited battery capacity will "cut it"

My neighbor has this one from a couple of years ago and I tried it out. It's smaller, lighter and quieter than the two cordless mowers we've used but that 14" path would probably be a dealbreaker for most people. When you consider that you will overlap each pass by at least 2-3 inches, you're really only cutting 10-11 inches on each pass.

    + Easy to maneuver
    + Quiet
    + Small
+ Super light compared to our B&D CM1100 or Toro, both of which weigh about twice as much

    - 14" path!?!?!
    - Pricey for what you get
    - Hard to cut near obstacles

poor battery life - Verlyn R - Camano Island, WA United States
I have a 5.? mower and cannot keep the battery working for more than 1 season. I store the battery per manufacturers suggestion (which has changed over the years) but still have to buy a battery every year. That's fairly expensive. I won't buy another. My mower is going to the dump and the batteries I've collected to the recycle.

Neuton CE5 has a bit more power than my corded Black & Decker had - C. D Smith - Denver, CO
We got this mower at an [...] mower trade in event. We didn't have a gas mower to trade in so we paid 5 for this mower. (We are giving our old B&D electric away to our dog sitter). I paid 9 for the B&D electric and it always had trouble with the higher grass. The Little Neuton CE5 has a bit more torque than the B&D ever had. The cutting path is quite a bit smaller at 14 inches, however, my wife keeps re-claiming more and more yard and turning it into garden so the 1500 or so square feet of lawn we have left is easily mowable with this little puppy. Set up was easy. I took the battery and charger into the back porch and had it charging while I assembled the mower. The battery wasn't fully charged after set up, but after about 4 hours on the charger (the manual said it could take 8 to 14 hours to fully charge), the light on the charger changed from red to green indicating the battery was fully charged. Even with all the rain and foot high grass (which would require a couple passes with any mower), going through that mostly dry foot high grass was easier with the Neut than with the B&D.

The "Prius" mower - J. Calhoun - Worthington, OH USA
I have the previous version of this mower, now 8 years old, and it finally died. The original batteries are still going, and I can still trim. We are rather rough on mowers (previous record: 3 years on a gas mower), but until last year, you could get any part to repair it. All mowers will need maintenance, but overall this has been much cheaper to operate and repair. I am ordering this version to replace it, which has been out a few years, and it is mostly the same as mine. Mine is the first version sold.

If you use up all the juice in one battery, just slip another one in. I can mow my small yard and do all the trimming and still have juice left over on one battery. I can mow on Sunday morning and not disturb anyone (you can talk in a low voice and be heard while mowing). You can pick it up with one hand. I mulch my leaves with it. The trimmer is the best one I have ever had.

Like all electric mowers, it requires a certain philosophy to be successfull (the "Prius" thing). I use the entire width and do not overlap rows, leaving a 4" mowhawk. Then I go back and mow that. You cannot walk too fast over the wet or extra thick parts. With this method, it is as fast and as thorough as my last 5 1/2 hp gas mower. You need to keep the batteries charged, but not on the charger all of the time. If you are not willing to make adjustments like this, you will be happier with a gas mower. The 36 volt version is more powerful, and so is a corded electric, but for small yards, this is fine.

WORX GT WG151.5 18-Volt Cordless Electric String Trimmer/Edger

WORX GT WG151.5 18-Volt Cordless Electric String Trimmer/Edger Review

after pondering for about a year after seeing the infomercial I decided to buy it. The main selling point was its light weight, battery operated and the wheeled edger. After using it for about 2 months I am very satisfied with this baby. The other reviewesr point out that it is not very powerful. I would agree but it is powerful enough for my needs and I love its versatility and that it does not kill my shoulder plus it is very quite. I love that I can recharge the battery in 30 min. First I was not sure that was a big deal but I recommend you spend the extra $ and get it with the fast charger. I am also very surprised that the helix sting cuts that well and last that long. With my black and decker I was using like 10 feet every time I cut my lawn while the worx has used probably about 1 or 2 feet instead. Its design it is also very stylish. I love the wheels on the edger. You do need to go back and forward in those places where the edge is high but other than that it does a good job. I hope it lasts me for 5+ years at least. As long as you are not expecting professional looking results and have less that 1/3 acre site then you will be very happy with it. I also go the blower and trimer. For extra bucks I said: why not? I will review those in their respective categories.

A fold-away guard and twin wheel set add protection and accuracy to give your yard a professionally manicured look. At just 5.3 pounds, it's light enough for almost anyone to use. An automatic line feed keeps the trimmer from binding up and interrupting your work, and the 10-inch cutting radius covers plenty of ground.

The Worx GT 2-in-1 Cordless Lawn Trimmer/Edger is backed by a full two-year warranty.

Best trimmer/EDGER ever - Grandpa Jim - St. Louis
I couldn't be more pleased with the Worx trimmer/edger. I have trimmed my yard 4 times so far without changing the spool once. I have also trimmed and edged the neighbors lawn once and he also purchased the Worx trimmer. I do recommend the purchase of a second battery as the one lasts about 25 minutes. I would strongly recommend this trimmer and to this point can't understand the negative feedback I saw before I purchased it. The edger in particular is great.

    The TRUTH about battery life: 1.3AH = 1300mah = WEAK SAUCE!! - NeoEngineer -
I love everything about this trimmer except for one thing...the WEAK SAUCE battery!

    1.3AH = 1300mah

How much capacity is 1300 mah? Well, if you look at the average Energizer AA rechargeable you can buy from Walmart, it's a whopping 2400mah!! Yes, almost double the capacity! How long can you go on 1300mah? Not very long at all. These are the specs of my yard:

    - 1/4 acre lot, on which rests a 4,000 sq ft home
    - walled on 3 sides in the backyard
    - a rock retaining wall in the backyard the same length as the house itself
    - flower beds around each corner of the house
    - then, your standard sidewalk in the front
    - and, another sidewalk leading from the driveway to the front of the house

Pretty normal for your average 4,000 sq ft home and 1/4 acre lot. I really needed 3 batteries complete this job. And, they want -80 for an additional battery? No way!

For that much money, I'm tempted to make a DIY rechargeable battery pack made from Sanyo Eneloops. If you wait for a good deal, you can get AA Eneloops for each. To get 18v, you would need 15 AA cells (1.2v x 15 = 18v) and connect them serially. This would yield an amazing 2000mah for only !

And, these Eneloops won't "leak energy" the way all other batteries do. If you don't know about Eneloops, educate yourself (Google it!), you'll be glad you did.

Worx claims on their website that their Li-ion battery is 3x the run time of the conventional battery? I call BS on that!! I know Li-ions need a few charge/discharge cycles to reach their full capacity but I doubt it will triple its current capacity. I'll wait and give them the benefit of the doubt but I may end up building my own Eneloop-powered battery pack if it fails to live up to its claim (which seems like a high possibility at this point). If anyone is interested in this DIY, please leave a comment and I'll take the extra time to document the process and post it online.

Again, there is no reason for Worx to be giving us such weak batteries. I docked a whopping 2 stars for this because the battery is such an important component of the overall product, without it working well, you can't use the product at all!

Bad Battery - Delivev - Austin, TX USA
Good trimmer, lousy battery. Exactly two months after I bought this from Amazon, the battery is kaput. This seems to be a common problem and the Worx customer service is designed to make returning it or getting a replacement battery an expensive and time consuming operation. Buy the cheapest trimmer at Wal-Mart and throw it away when it no longer works and you'll still be money ahead rather than buying this piece of garbage,

Best battery-operated string trimmer around - Robert H. Brown -
I bought this trimmer 2 months ago to replace two, dead Black and Decker battery-powered trimmers. Along with it I purchased an extra battery and extra spools of string. I live in Arizona and consequently don't trim very often, but when I do, it's a lot. The Worx trimmer is far and away better than the Black and Decker, both in ability to trim and in battery life. It makes short work of all the stuff that's growing wild around here, and I rarely have to switch to the second battery. It's also easy to handle, and has a nice edging feature which, if you have a real lawn (something that's rare here), it will trim edges nicely. Bottom line: If you need a battery powered trimmer for small- to medium-sized jobs, this is the one you want. Just buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Earthwise 60120 20-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Lawn Mower

Earthwise 60120 20-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Lawn Mower Review

I have the Homelite branded version of this mower from a local retailer. We mow approximately 10,340 sq ft of lawn with this mower on a bi-weekly basis. This equates to a lot size of 0.272 acres (80ft by 148ft), minus space occupied by the dwelling unit. This is within the limits of the mower to accomplish on a single charge - however one cutting so far we had waited over 4 weeks to cut due to rain, and the grass was also still lightly wet in the shaded regions of the yard - this proved to be too much for the mower on a single charge, but should not be a regular occurrence.

    [Battery Thoughts]
The mower is powered by a lead acid battery. Lead acid batteries suffer from several shortcomings, but with their obvious advantage being price over newer technologies, like NiMH (nickel metal hydride) or any Lithium variant (LiIon, LiPo, LiFePO4, etc) it is no wonder why the manufacturer has chosen this type. Some of their disadvantages can be overcome by user habits. Discharging the mower below 50% DoD (depth of discharge) will shorten the life of the battery noticeably, this is common to all lead acid battery types. The ideal situation would be to not discharge the battery no more than 20% per use for the longest life, but this will be impractical for most consumers. With a 10,000 sq ft. yard approaching the practical limit of the mower in good conditions, It would be advisable to split the mowing up into two days where a full charge could take place in the meantime, or to use two battery units, which obviously adds to the purchase price. A single "city lot", which would be between 4000-6000 sq ft. of mow-able yard, seems to be what this mower was engineered for. Good charging habits and inspecting the float voltage of your charger would let you prevent overcharging, the advice given to not leave the batteries on charge 24/7 is sound advice, within reason. When appropriately float charged, lead acid batteries are prevented from sulfating, which leads to the longest possible service life. When sealed lead acid batteries are float charged for extended periods, even at a marginally too high voltage, the electrolyte solution can "dry out"- extreme overcharging will form bubbles in the electrolyte of a gel based cell, which permanently reduces the surface area of the anode and cathode materials in the battery, for a permanent reduction in capacity. Proper float charging must also be temperature compensated for long battery life. Occasional use during the off season will also prevent lead dendrite formation in the cells, which can lead to shorted cells and a decrease in battery life. At a minimum, you should consider owning a digital multimeter to perform basic diagnostics on any electric equipment you may own.

The possibility exists with availability of consumer purchasable goods, to upgrade the battery unit of this mower to a newer technology battery, the most attractive would be LiFePo4. You can buy the cells and assemble them inside the existing battery housing, add balancer boards and a custom charger, all of which can be found on the Internet, for decreased weight and much improved battery performance - this is what I plan to do once the OEM battery's useful life has been surpassed. In fact, it would be easy for the manufacturer to offer drop in battery and charger replacements for these mowers, I have never seen a manufacturer of any cordless electronic product that had this much forethought or customer-focused product design to do so - if anything most companies would be more than happy to revise the entire product by changing the color scheme and making the batteries (just barely) incompatible with previous models to sell more new units.

    [Mower Capability]
The mower is very capable of mowing a yard of this size, and does bog down in the thicker or wet grasses, and so have its gasoline counterparts I have used in the past. The mower is heavier than the lightweight non self propelled gasoline units I have used, my wife of < 110 lbs. would not be comfortable or possibly even able to safely guide this up and down some of the steeper banks of our yard, some of which exceed 45 degree slope angle. Lowering the handle to its lowest position helped her not struggle pushing the mower around, and also helped keep me from bending the handle as I push it up and down the larger hills.

It can be hard to determine if an electric cordless will meet your needs, in part due to the length or time that a single recharge can take - ideally you do not want this factor to get in your way for household chores. This is why I have included as much specific detail as to the size of my yard and my mowing habits to give you a picture of what this unit can be expected to do; keep in mind this is with a new mower and a new battery - allow yourself some headroom in your purchase decision, or in your mowing habits, it will make you a much happier user of this product.

You are likely looking at electric products because they have a green appeal, lower emissions, and less maintenance associated with them. Everyone should be considering these options, and using them instead of more traditional gasoline products, when they meet your needs. As time goes on, this product and those like it will become more capable, so if they cannot meet your needs today, you should still keep them on your list for the next purchase. The overall environmental impact of electric products is far better when used properly, keeping in mind things like battery recycling, etc. If you have taken the steps to switch, or begin to switch, to alternative energy for your home, these are even more attractive to consider. At least you will be able to mow your grass as the world come crumbling down around you with per gallon gasoline and per kWh electric prices from fossil fuelled power plants!

    [Build Quality]
This mower has met my expectations so far for its quality of construction. A steel deck is a big plus, and its torsional rigidity seems more than adequate. The wheels are injection molded plastic, which so far has not been a problem - most mowers these days use plastic wheels to save weight and expense. The plastic engagement lever was mentioned by a previous review as fragile, I have not had problems with it, but it is one of the few areas of the mower I would keep a mind on treating well to avoid breakage. Mowers are simple machines, so failure points tend to be far and few between when not abused or used beyond their capability. Anyone with average mechanical skill would be able to fully service and perform any necessary repairs on this mower.

Some of the greatest dormant features of an electric mower is the reduced noise and ability to instantly stop and start the mower blades at will. It is great to just let go of the handle, stop the mower and go pick up branches and debris before mowing a section of the yard. Starting back up is equally as easy, something that cannot be said for any gasoline mower that has not had is safety mechanisms defeated, which seems to be a common occurrence. This mower, while not silent, is far less annoying when someone is mowing right next to an open window on the house, than the neighbors gasoline unit, over 100 ft away across the street. Your neighbors and your own ears will thank you for this. I can hear gasoline mowers running in my living room with the door open that are being operated over a street away, this is most certainly not the case for anyone with an electric.

I rate this product a 5/5 stars based on what is available in the marketplace today.

Flimsy construction, dying batteries - jkternes - Goodlettsville, TN United States
This mower worked fine for a 1/2 season of mowing.

After 1/2-season of mowing, one of the (plastic!) rear wheels collapsed. I replaced that and then the rear axle on the other side snapped off later the same day! It took several months to get a replacement rear axle. The overall quality of materials and construction is poor. The metal deck is suspiciously thin and I would not be surprised to have an axle snap again. I do not expect this mower to last more than 3 or 4 seasons of regular use.

The batteries are the worst part. I have two batteries. When new, a battery would mow about 1/4 acre. I am halfway into the second season and one of the batteries will not hold a full charge (only two green lights come on) and the yellow indicator light comes on after just a few passes. The other battery is holding a full charge but does not seem to do a full 1/4 acre any more.

I do not expect batteries to last forever but I would expect them to last more than one year. I usually remember to remove the charger after 24 hours but it does not always happen. The lack of a smart charger is another indication of the poor quality of this product.

Can I say anything good about this mower? Certainly. The height adjustment is very easy. And when the battery is charged, it does a great job of mulching.

I've used three different cordless mowers, but not this one. I Have the 20" Toro with 36 volts which works very well and a 19"/24V B&D, which I found to be adequate 80% of the time - with only 24V it struggled with tall grass. On paper the Earthwise looks pretty good on features but may fall short in power

Neuton CE 5.2 14-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Discharge/Mulching/Bagging Lawn Mower With Removable Battery Review

One Hour of Power on a Single Charge
The Neuton CE 5.2 Battery-Powered Mower is a welcome relief from the arm-yanking pull-starts, noxious fumes, startling noises, and uncomfortable vibrations of a gas lawn mower. It starts every time with a simple push of a button and mows for up to an hour on a single charge--ample time for most small- to medium-sized lawns. Need more time? Unlike other battery mowers with built-in batteries that require you to stop mowing to recharge, the CE 5.2 lets you drop in an optional spare battery and keep on mowing. For added convenience, you can also use the CE 5.2 as a trim mower for larger lawns.

Environmentally Friendly Gas- and Oil-Free Operation
The key benefits of the CE 5.2 are that it works well without compromising the environment, and that it doesn’t demand continual maintenance. Because this mower never requires gas or oil, it won’t need a tune-up. Plus, it runs clean, meaning it won’t release harmful pollutants or carbon emissions into the air. Additionally, no gas or oil means easy cleaning and safe storage without spills or fumes.

Magnet Battery and 3-in-1 Cutting Options for Power and Versatility
This efficient mower owes its robust performance to a 32-amp, 240-watt-hour, 24-volt permanent magnet battery that’s both removable and sealed. The battery provides an impressive 45-60-minute run time per charge, depending on grass conditions. The CE 5.2 also offers versatile three-in-one cutting options and includes a rear grass bag (which holds one full bushel of clippings), a side discharge chute, and a mulching plug.

Lightweight for Easy Pushing, Adjustable Height for Greater Flexibility
Easy to operate, the CE 5.2 weighs just 48 pounds, so you won’t struggle to push it across your lawn. Additionally, a single-touch height-adjustment lever raises and lowers the cutting blade from 1.2 inches to 3.0 inches, giving you great flexibility.

14-Inch Cutting Width for Better Control and Great Results
Equipped with seven-inch front wheels and eight-inch rear wheels, the CE 5.2 is stable and sturdy, even when mowing around trees or shrubs or on rugged terrain. Its 14-inch cutting width lets you power through your lawn, leaving only manicured grass behind.

Truly Quiet Operation for More Enjoyable Yard Work
Because it runs on a battery, the CE 5.2 boasts a quiet running noise of less than 80 DbA. The low noise level makes operation more pleasant for both you and your neighbors. You might even be able to ditch those ear plugs for good!

    Cost-Effective Design Saves You Money
The CE 5.2 saves you money year after year thanks to its low operating costs. The estimated cost to operate a gas mower (including gasoline, oil, spark plugs, filters, and tune-ups) for four years is as much as 0.00. The costs of recharging the battery over four years of mowing 28 times per year with a Neuton Mower is approximately .20. That's a huge savings!

Ready to Go Right Out of the Box
With the CE 5.2, you don’t have to wait to mow. It arrives with everything you need to get started right away, including the battery, battery charger, and rear grass-collection bag.

Optional Accessories for All-in-One Yard Maintenance
Neuton Mowers have attachments and accessories that give you options other mowers simply can’t. For instance, the optional Trimmer/Edger Attachment eliminates the need for a second piece of equipment and gives your yard and walkways a beautiful, clean finish. And for longer running time, you can also purchase an optional Spare Battery (model 178781).

    The CE 5.2 measures 18 x 30 x 37 inches (WxHxD), weighs 48 pounds, and comes with a two-year limited warranty.

Great Mower & Outstanding Customer Support - J. Norton -
This is a nice little mower for our yard that is about .1 of acre. It is light weight and very quiet. I've had it for about 2 years now and everything works great. I got the string trimmer attachment which is a real time saver having two tools in one. I wish the mowing path was a bit wider. I did have a switch problem but, one call to customer service had a whole new handle bar assembly in the mail at no charge. These people stand behind their product!

As good as a Gas mower - Harland Taylor - Leominster, MA
This product is better than an electric mower with a power cord. The disadvantage of most electric mowers is the power cord hanging off the side. Another disadvatage is you are limited by the length of the cord.

With the Neuton mower there is no limitation by cord length. There is suficient power in the battery to mow most lawns with enough left over to assist your neighbor with his lawn. My lawn is small, and I take care of two lawns. One advantage of the Neuton mower over a gas mower is it is instant running without the need of a pull cord.

Today has to be good now that you're part of it.

    I NOW love it. ** UPDATED ** - J. Zonick - Orange, CA USA
Ordered it from Amazon on Thursday within the time-frame for next day delivery. One clicked and waited. No show on Friday, ugh. Turns out Amazon says heavy items (never got the weight definition) don't go out next day, but that I'll get a "courtesy refund" of my Prime fee for next day (.99). Ok, fine. It certainly doesn't merit a bad rating for the product - but something you should know if you want this quickly.

I received it Monday and immediately took the battery out to charge it. No light. I insert it a few more times to make sure I'm doing it right (it's a simple mini-din on the battery that an AC adapter plugs into). No dice. I let it charge overnight, but the mower is as dead can be when I try to start it up. This is where it gets interesting.

I speak to Neuton (DW Power) tech support, and mention it to them. After asking the obvious quesitons, the rep asks me if I have a voltmeter. It's fairly presumptuous to expect a customer to have that skillset, but I just happen to. The adapter tests fine so it is obviously a bad battery. Shame, but stuff happens - right? So because my grass is taking over my backyard I practically beg to get it next day, and the rep says I can wait the 7-10 days from VT to CA, or I can PAY to expedite it. Wait a minute, didn't I pay for a functioning product? "But sir, I'm sending this to you for free?!". Wow. If I hadn't researched this mower to death to determine it would work best for me this would have been on the first truck back to VA.

I hope and pray that I'll never need to contact their customer "service" again.

I will update this once I actually get the battery and I can use the product.

    ** Update 4-23-10 **

I got a call two days after I wrote this review from DW Power explaining that they were overnighting a battery to me at their expense. Whether it was due to this review or not I can't say, but I was very impressed - but that was just the beginning.

After charging the battery for a half day, I set it in the mower and immediately the activity light on the front of the mower turned green. So far, so good. I set the blade height to the highest setting (3" I believe), put the bag catcher on, and away I went.

This mower is a dream. Not only is it quiet but it's easy to maneuver. It does a great job cutting, and after mowing both my front and back lawns (about 45 minutes) the battery still had plenty of juice (although you should slap it on the charger right away per the instructions). It's nice to know my yard will only need one battery. I also like the fact that the large handle breaks down and can be folded (and the mower uprighted) to conserve space in the garage. I'm glad I gave this mower a second chance.
